Refrigerator sealed-system repair.

A refrigerator that runs but will not cool may have an airflow, control or sealed-system problem. TECA checks the evidence before recommending leak repair, compressor work or another solution.

Start with what you notice

What is your appliance doing?

01

The refrigerator runs but stays warm

Note temperatures in both compartments, when cooling changed and whether the compressor runs continuously. These symptoms can have several causes.

02

Cooling is uneven or frost looks unusual

Share which shelves or compartments are affected and a clear photo of visible frost. A frost pattern is useful evidence but is not a diagnosis by itself.

03

A previous recharge or compressor repair did not last

Include the previous service date, invoice or diagnostic findings if available. A recurring fault needs its cause investigated before more work is proposed.

The TECA approach

Confirm the fault before opening the sealed system.

Sealed-system work should follow a reasoned diagnosis. Depending on the model and symptoms, assessment may include temperature and frost-pattern review, electrical and control checks, and appropriate pressure or leak testing. TECA explains the findings, repair scope and parts options, then provides a quote for your approval before work proceeds.

DIAGNOSTIC FOCUS
  1. Compartment temperatures, airflow and frost pattern
  2. Compressor, inverter and related electrical controls
  3. Leak or pressure testing when indicated and appropriate
  4. Repair feasibility, parts availability and post-repair verification

Relevant checks depend on the model and reported symptoms.

Before we arrive

Make the first visit more useful.

Send the model label, current compartment temperatures and a short description of when the issue began. Photos of visible frost or any previous service paperwork can help. Keep doors closed as much as possible, protect perishable food, and do not open the refrigerant circuit or attempt a recharge.

Your questions

Before you book

Does a warm refrigerator always need a compressor?+

No. Airflow, defrost, sensors, controls and other faults can cause similar symptoms. Testing helps establish whether the compressor or sealed system is involved.

How do you find a refrigerant leak?+

The diagnostic method depends on the appliance and evidence. An electronic detector, visual inspection and other suitable checks may be used; no single test is right for every model.

Can every sealed-system leak be repaired?+

No. Location, cabinet construction, access, refrigerant type, parts and the appliance’s condition affect whether a durable repair is practical. We explain the options after assessment.

Do you service R600a refrigerators?+

The refrigerant and model must be confirmed before booking. R600a is flammable and requires appropriate equipment and trained handling; do not attempt DIY sealed-system work.

How much does sealed-system repair cost?+

The price depends on the confirmed fault, access, parts and repair scope. TECA provides a quote for approval before repair work begins.

What should I send before booking?+

Share the brand and model label, temperatures in the fresh-food and freezer compartments, a description of the symptoms, and any relevant previous service details.
